About
Greetings, I’m Miles.
I remember meeting someone once who welcomed everyone this way, with a big smile and open arms. I’ve never forgotten it, so “greetings” – you are very welcome here, wherever you are from.
I’m a psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher.
About three years ago, my own healing journey deepened. The depression and anxiety I had long been familiar with became more intense. It was a confusing time, and I found myself withdrawing and feeling quite alone. Meaning and purpose felt distant. Looking back, it marked the beginning of a deeper inner shift.
Although it was a lonely period, that space also brought greater awareness. I began to notice patterns in how I was thinking and responding, and to relate to myself in new ways – often gradually, and sometimes with difficulty. Over time, something began to open. I found a greater sense of connection, both within myself and in the world around me.
This ongoing journey shapes how I work. It informs my sensitivity, my understanding, and the way I sit alongside people.
Wherever you are from, however you identify, and whatever you may be facing, I offer a space where you can begin to find more ease, clarity, and a way forward.
Style & Approach
My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies, while remaining flexible and responsive to you as an individual. Rather than following a fixed method, we work together to shape the therapy in a way that feels most helpful, drawing on different approaches where appropriate and guided by current research.
Alongside this, the therapeutic relationship sits at the heart of the work. I aim to offer a space that feels steady, collaborative, and free from judgement — where you can speak openly, at your own pace, and feel genuinely met in your experience.
We may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviour, as well as the deeper experiences that sit beneath them. At times this might involve practical tools and strategies; at others, it may be about slowing down, reflecting, and making sense of what’s been difficult.
I’m here to support you to reconnect with your own capacity for understanding, change, and growth.

My work across the NHS, private, corporate, and voluntary sectors has given me a broad and varied experience of supporting people of all ages with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, and low mood. I have worked in primary care, secondary care, and inpatient settings, offering both individual therapy and group work.
I have a particular interest in trauma and social anxiety, and often work with people experiencing multiple, overlapping difficulties. I also support people who may have found previous therapy unhelpful, taking time to understand what hasn’t worked and how we might approach things differently.
Alongside this, I have facilitated workshops within organisations and community settings, supporting wellbeing and increasing access to mental health support. I have also contributed to service development and supported trainee therapists through supervision and teaching.
I have worked in academic settings, contributing to research that supports the development of effective, evidence-based therapies, including studies that have led to publications in peer-reviewed journals. This combination of experience shapes a grounded and flexible approach to my work.
I also engage in ongoing training and clinical supervision to support and reflect on my practice.
Next steps
Sometimes the first step can feel like the hardest part. I know how that can feel. Beginning therapy can often also bring a sense of relief – a chance to talk things through and begin moving forward. Over time, it can feel empowering and deeply supportive.
Finding a therapist you connect with and trust is the most important part of working together. I offer a complimentary 20-minute introduction by phone or online. It’s a chance for us to talk about what you’re experiencing and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If you decide to begin therapy with me, sessions are £100 for 50 minutes. I offer a small number of reduced-fee spaces, so do feel free to get in touch if cost might be a barrier. We can meet either online or in person from my own private practice in Headington, just a five-minute walk from the Thornhill Park & Ride. You’re most welcome to complete the contact form below to begin.
